Customer Service Agent – Property & Casualty (Not A Sales Agent – Service Only)

The Account Manager will be primarily responsible for the ongoing management of clients, retention of new and renewal clients, and maintaining a partnership with the producer to support business development activities while upholding high service standards. These duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining relationships with multiple insurance companies/MGAs to negotiate and obtain quotes, binders, endorsements, etc
  • Managing established book of accounts
  • Negotiating renewals for existing customers
  • Obtaining information and documentation from new and existing clients
  • Resolving customer issues

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Independently manages accounts on a day-to-day basis which includes coordinating all services, answering all questions, and resolving problems, which may arise; maintains timeliness and completeness when interacting with clients, agency and company personnel
  • Negotiates and secures the most appropriate carrier coverage based upon client needs for new and renewal business and negotiating cost of those coverages; maintains ongoing relationships with carrier product managers.
  • Determines appropriate client service support for new and existing clients; responds to client and carrier inquiries, maintains and enhances the company’s relationships with existing clients by executing proactive and ongoing contact initiatives.
  • Makes decisions regarding the resolution of all moderate and complex customer service problems: research and resolve coverage issues, audit issues, billing discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Independently enters and maintains accounts/policies in QQ Catalyst while maintaining a current suspense; reviews insurance policies and endorsements for accuracy; reviews contracts and special certificate of insurance requests for compliance and response to insured.
  • Proactively maintains partnership with the producer by keeping him/her informed of pertinent information regarding the accounts and provides support and assistance for the development of new business.
  • Independently communicates subjectivities and exclusions for new and renewal business and document the difference in policy forms when comparing various quotes.
  • Uses specific industry training and knowledge to determine the needs of the client and identify cross-selling opportunities; expands/rounds-out existing accounts by identifying potential gaps in coverage, recommending and implementing proper coverage.
  • Researches and maintains industry knowledge of developing trends regarding carrier underwriting, appetite and pricing changes. Applies knowledge to negotiation of policies to provide best comprehensive coverage to clients.
  • Responsible for having an understanding of assigned accounts in order to give proper advice for changing situations, which may require modifications to existing coverage.

Technical: Intermediate to advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. QQ Catalyst software proficiency preferred, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Insurance Sales Producer

The Insurance Sales Producer will be primarily responsible for prospecting, networking, and producing new property and casualty business insurance policies and accounts as well as the renewal retention of existing accounts. These duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prospect for business based on your local networks, connections, and communities
  • Marketing of insurance risks to companies in accordance with the practices, policies, and procedures of the company
  • Conduct sales, service, and solicitation of all forms of insurance business
  • Maximize growth and client retention through superior customer service
  • Develop accounts and cross sell available products and services
  • Generate and pursue new client opportunities
  • Bring new business prospects to closure
  • Retain clients by maintaining solid relationships

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain active expiration lists through internal and external sources.
  • Provide immediate follow up on client referrals.
  • Make prospecting calls to identify business needs and propose company products and services.

  • Provide professional risk management advice to prospects and clients.
  • Obtain information for quotations and market account to various insurance carriers.
  • Work with Account Manager to prepare renewal proposals and present to clients.
  • Stay abreast of trends in the insurance industry and pursue continuing education.
  • Make follow up calls on insureds to ensure client satisfaction with insurance program and insurance needs.
  • Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through the acquisition of new business and the retention of renewals.
  • Assist in the analysis of line of business and insurance company production trends and make recommendations to correct deficiencies.
  • Work with the Account Managers to complete pre-underwriting, information gathering, submissions, coverage analysis, and proposal presentations.
  • Execute a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered assuring coverage, condition, rating, and pricing accuracy.
  • Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, company visitations, and negotiations.
  • Maintain superior knowledge of market underwriting appetite, line of business trends, insurance company changes, rating technique, and coverage development.
  • Accurately maintain prospects, new, and renewal business in the agency management system to allow for proper analysis of trends when gaining or losing business; work with executive management to continually analyze and strengthen areas of opportunity.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
